Review : UnReal

Holy cow. This series is awesome.

SURPRISE! It's from lifetime! It actually isn't stupid for once.  This you must watch. Seriously drop whatever else you're doing and go watch the TV show. After you finish reading this, of course.

In a nutshell, the main character, Rachel, is mentally unstable according to her psychologist mother. Which is coincidental since Everlasting, the parody of The Bachelor,  creates drama though manipulation. Mentally unstable people are supposedly good at manipulation.

Rachel is one of the producers for the show Everlasting and with UnReal, we get a behind the scenes look at how "reality" TV is made.

Quinn is her boss. Quinn is sleeping with Chet, a married rich guy who funds the show. It turns out Quinn and some other guy Bill came up with the idea for the show but Chet stole it. Quinn also has to deal with the fact that all along Chet's wife knew about the affair. Hmm.

At the end of the first episode, I put my money on Rachel having feelings for the bachelor, Adam. I wasn't quite sure if he'd like her back but after watching all four online released episodes, it looks like her might like her too. Relationships don't seem like a good thing for Rachel.

Now, as for the ladies. Each one of them is quite interesting. I like Faith, she's quite simple. Anna is sensible. Grace, well... She has Adam's attention. There are way more female suitors but they don't matter. Except Athena, who got kicked off the show at the end of the fourth episode. She's smart to use of the fact that she's African American to her advantage but she should have listened to the other pale Black lady's words.

Quinn yelling at people to "sell true love here" is fake. I suppose one of the girls will fall for Adam but Adam and Rachel will be too deep in each other's heart and too deep in bed to care about the girl. Rachel will get fired again. (I hope not.) She got fired the "previous season" because she ruined the show by revealing that the runner up was the runner up. Eh. True love comes from the most unexpected place, I guess?

Ooo. There's also a backstory with Rachel hooking up with the head camera guy, Jeremy in the "previous season". It's not delved into details much except in awkward passing conversations and when Rachel's last roommate blackmails her. It's at the forefront yet a lot is left to be implied.

This may be the best show yet. It may replace the C-Drama  Scarlet Heart as my favorite.  We'll see.

Review : Double Daddy

Interesting new storyline. Sorta. The main guy gets his girlfriend pregnant and some other random new girl knocked up too.

New girl is a gold digger. She has tried at least once to scam some other rich dude but failed each time. She runs over (unsuccessfully) Girlfriend. She attacks main guy's mom with a plate.

Eh. Typical lifetime plot states that the main character be a woman (check, that's the girlfriend), a psychopath (yep.), a precious somebody (present) , plot holes ( also present), some dead person (yep. New girl kills her ex-boyfriend when he wants money from her. )

As always, unless you're bored, don't watch lifetime movies.

Seriously? How do people give birth in the middle of the woods? Plus the mother had no umbilical cord.

Babies daddy is split between dirt poor needy girl and his girlfriend. He chooses his girlfriend (Thank god. Also, no duh...)

To spoil the ending, Gold Digger goes to jail for killing her Ex. She gets twenty to life, yet she vows to be reunited with her precious baby and rich boyfriend.
